One of a number of new additions to the club’s coaching staff at the start of the 2016 season, Shane is now into his third season with the Robins and is the club’s Head of Strength and Conditioning.
Born in Ireland, Shane studied at University College Dublin before completing his Masters at Leeds Metropolitan University and went on to work in rugby union with Leeds Carnegie RFC before joining the Robins.
Shane works alongside colleague Tom Clough to oversee the club’s strength and conditioning department, playing a key role in preparing the players in the gym and on the field in training and helping them to improve as athletes, as well as using his expertise in injury prevention and rehabilitation.
As a rehab conditioner, Shane is responsible for overseeing each player’s rehabilitation programme, working alongside the physiotherapy team to manage their return to fitness.
